Maldives Transport and Contracting Company, (MTCC) was incorporated in 1980 and is currently the longest-serving public company in the Maldives. The company was established to contribute towards the development of infrastructure and transport services in the country. Since then, MTCC has positioned itself as one of the strongest business entities in the country with a diversified range of products and services, with one of the largest workforces across the country. Today the company offers a diverse range of services such as Construction and Project Management (including development of airports and roads, harbours and ports, storm water management and sewerage, dredging and reclamation, shore protection, designing and consultancy in project management, engineering design, surveying and EIA), Logistical Operations, Modern Transport Services, Engineering and Docking Service, and Trading Services for a plethora of reputed products including Yanmer as official distributor, Suzuki Marine engines, Castrol lubricants, Marol, PPG protective & marine coating, Donaldson filtration solutions, Nakashima, Industrial gas, and Boat building materials and composites. Mohamed Afeef Hussain

Chairperson

Mr. Mohamed Afeef Hussain was appointed to the Board as the Chairman by the majority shareholder (Government) on 18th December 2023. Mr. Afeef is a very experienced professional who has held key positions in the government and various state-owned enterprises with more than 20 years of experience.

Mr. Mohamed Afeef Hussain currently serves as the Director General in the Corporate Department of the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure. Infrastructure. Mr. Afeef has held key roles in various governmental and corporate entities, he made notable contributions to STELCO, where he served as Chairman from 2013 to 2016 and held key positions, including Assistant Managing Director, Director, and Deputy Director during different periods from 2002 to 2008. His tenure at Public Works Services saw him contribute significantly as the Director General from 2012, until 2021. In the Works Corporation Limited, he served as Acting Managing Director from 2012 to 2013 and as Executive Director from 2009 to 2012. Additionally, Mr. Afeef played essential roles in Fenaka Corporation Limited, serving as a Non-Executive Director in 2012-2013 and later as Chairman in 2013, further demonstrating his diverse and accomplished career in both the public and private sectors.

Mr. Afeef has a Master’s in Sharia & Law from Villa College. He also completed several trainings including Directors Training Program from Institute of Corporate Directors and Secretaries.

DCP (RETD)Ahmed Saudee

Managing Director

DCP (RETD) Ahmed Saudee was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors and Managing Director on 21 August 2024.

Mr. Saudee, a seasoned law enforcement professional, served with distinction in law and enforcement institutions from April 1992 to February 2018. Over his 25-year career, he progressed through the ranks to Deputy Commissioner of Maldives Police Service, showcasing exemplary leadership and management skills.

His service began with the National Security Service (Maldivian Army), transitioning to Maldives Police Service in 2004. Throughout his career at Maldives Police Service, Mr. Saudee held key roles, including Head of Specialist Operations, Crime Investigation Command, and Divisional Operations Command. He was promoted to Chief Inspector in 2010 and further to Chief Superintendent of Maldives Police in 2011, assuming responsibilities at the Senior and Executive Management levels. His tenure as Deputy Commissioner of Maldives Police commenced in December 2013.

DCP (RETD) Mr. Saudee also has extensive leadership experience in the corporate sector, having served as Chief Operating Officer at Elite Medical Center from January 2020 to October 2021. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing overall operations and ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the organization. After his time at Elite Medical Center, he joined Ibiz Holdings Private Limited as General Manager in November 2021. During his tenure, which lasted until March 2023, Mr. Saudee managed the company’s diverse business activities, playing a key role in its growth and strategic development.

Mr. Saudee’s leadership was instrumental in strategic and operational planning, and institutional development. He played a pivotal role in shaping Maldives Police Service, particularly through his involvement in Maldives Police Service’s Disciplinary and Executive Boards and as Chairperson of the Promotion Board from 2016 to 2018.

DCP (RETD) Mr. Saudee has successfully completed the Criminal Justice Education program at the prestigious University of Virginia, USA. His professional development also includes training at renowned institutions such as the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in India, the Scottish Police College, and the FBI National Academy. Additionally, he holds a Diploma in Police Management from the Scottish Police College.
